Before the common, pre-made formulations we find at pharmacies today, druggists would often mix custom formulations specific to a client's needs. Drugstores of this era contained tons of different raw ingredients, ranging from witch hazel and glycerine to mothballs and gasoline.

This specific bottle obviously contained Sodium Borate (Borax), and I tentatively date it back to the 1890s–1920s.

  • Condition: fine; the label glass is a bit cracked, but the bottle itself is good.

  • Extra Fun Fact: This piece was actually in my grandparents' home while I was growing up as a kid.
