Hand Painted Shipibo Shaman Dress

Many shamans and healers wear this traditional dress when they lead Ayahuasca ceremonies. It features the famous Maya Kené design, and let me tell you... this takes FOREVER to paint. I know this firsthand because I actually helped paint this one.

Alicia and I spent hours with a traditional quill and ink, designing and painting every line. This specific piece was created for a shaman friend of ours who was traveling and needed it to sing his Icaros on stage.

Please be careful with this piece; the fabric is very delicate and tears easily. Also... try not to be a jackass with it. Have some respect for the work and what it truly takes to be a Shipibo healer.
